Central Health President, CEO stepping down by the end of 2023 AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Central Health President and CEO Mike Geeslin announced Monday he plans to "depart" the Travis County healthcare district by the end of this year, according to a news release from Central Health.Geeslin will mark six years with Central Health in May, the release said. “For the past year, I’ve met with the Board about Central Health’s ongoing transformation and thinking about the next generation of CEOs to lead the organization,” Geeslin said in the news release. “Organizations should be deliberate in embracing change and controlling their destiny, and this includes creating leadership change. Joint funeral planned Saturday for 2 slain western Wisconsin police officers Hundreds of people lined the streets and somberly paid their respects as the flag-draped caskets carrying the bodies of police officers Emily Breidenbach and Hunter Scheel returned home to western Wisconsin on Monday.Breidenbach, 32, of the Cameron Police Department, and Scheel, 23, of the Chetek Police Department, were killed in the line of duty during a shootout in a traffic stop Saturday in Cameron. Whale found on San Leandro shore was likely struck by boat SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Scientists with the California Academy of Sciences and The Marine Mammal Center said a juvenile gray whale that washed ashore near the San Leandro Marina last week likely died from injuries sustained in a vessel strike. In a necropsy conducted Saturday, scientists identified several areas of hemorrhage found in the soft tissue around the whale’s eye, lower jaw, and shoulder indicating blunt force trauma that occurred while the whale was alive.
