Nissan's all-electric SUV is stylish and practical

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 20:10:26 GMT

There are so many new options when it comes to EV's, but not all of them come from a manufacturer with this much experience in electric batteries.Recently, I've been test driving the 2023 Nissan Ariya, an all-electric crossover that I wasn't even aware existed until I started researching the latest Nissan Leaf. Now that I've discovered the Ariya, I'm surprised I didn't notice it sooner on city streets. Perhaps that'd due to its resemblance of the Rogue. But Ariya kicks it up a notch with slick, futuristic styling both inside and out.Nissan has been making electric vehicles for over a decade thanks to the success of the Leaf, so they have plenty of expertise when it comes to battery technology. The Ariya has a range of about 300 miles on a full charge. In my testing, I found this to be a sweet spot for EV's.The interior is nice and roomy, with a minimalist cabin. Immediately, you notice two wide horizonal digital displays. They work wirelessly with CarPlay, wired with Android Auto.The...

The 49ers look to get over NFC title game hump after losses the past 2 years

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (15-5)EXPECTATIONS: After back-to-back losses in the NFC title game, nothing short of a Super Bowl appearance could be considered a success in San Francisco. The 49ers have a star-studded roster with seven players who were picked as first-team All-Pros at least once in the past four seasons. The defense led by Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa and linebacker Fred Warner was the stingiest in the league last season and added another interior pass rusher in Javon Hargrave to boost one of the only weak spots. Bosa has been holding out all summer but the Niners are hopeful they will sign him to an extension before the start of the season. Brock Purdy emerged from the last pick in the draft to become a viable starting QB, winning his first seven starts before getting hurt in the NFC championship game and posting an impressive 108 passer rating. With Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle as playmakers, Purdy doesn’t have to do muc...

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge on Wednesday held Rudy Giuliani liable in a defamation lawsuit brought by two Georgia election workers who say they were falsely accused of fraud, entering a default judgment against the former New York City mayor and ordering him to pay tens of thousands of dollars in lawyers’ fees.U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell said the punishment was necessary because Giuliani had ignored his duty as a defendant to turn over information requested by election workers Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea’ ArShaye Moss, as part of their lawsuit.Their complaint from December 2021 accused Giuliani, one of Donald Trump’s lawyers and a confidant of the former Republican president, of defaming them by falsely stating that they had engaged in fraud while counting ballots at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The ruling enables the case to move forward to a trial in federal court in Washington to determine any damages that Giuliani must pay. He will have a “final opport...
