Pat Surtain II, other Broncos cornerbacks marvel at Travis Hunter’s performance in CU’s win over TCU: “You don’t see that often”

The idea of playing more than 100 snaps in a football game sounds absurd. But Travis Hunter made it look easy during Colorado’s upset over No. 17 TCU on Saturday. The sophomore cornerback/wide receiver played 144 snaps (80 defense and 64 offense), making plays that had the entire nation, including Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II — arguably a top two corner in the league — in disbelief.“The plays he (made were) crazy,” Surtain said. “You don’t see that often, him playing (144) snaps (and) making plays on both sides of the ball.”Hunter, who transferred to Colorado after playing for Deion Sanders at Jackson State last season, was an elite prospect out of high school. However, his performance against the Horned Frogs made it seem like he wasn’t from this planet. He caught 11 passes for 119 yards while diving for an interception. For Broncos cornerback Fabian Moreau, Saturday wasn’t his first time watching the Travis Hunter experience. Moreau attended one of Hunter’s high school ga...23 health care workers arrested after protesting outside Kaiser Permanente in Hollywood

OAKLAND – The Oakland A’s coaching staff and front office are using this time with just under four weeks left in the regular season to help determine which players can be a part of the solution going forward.First baseman Ryan Noda, second baseman Zack Gelof, and outfielder Lawrence Butler figure into the team’s long-term plans — and could even be key ingredients for whenever the A’s are again ready to compete for a playoff spot.Gelof was just named the American League Rookie of the Month for August and Noda has played his best baseball of the year since he returned from a fractured jaw midway through last month, helping the A’s put together a positive stretch in what’s otherwise been a forgettable 2023 season. Those two and Butler combined for five hits and three home runs in a 10-inning, 6-5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at the Coliseum on Monday. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The way rookie cornerbacks Deonte Banks and Tre Hawkins have fit so seamlessly into the New York Giants defense, veteran Adoree Jackson has found himself playing a relatively new position.New York’s top coverage cornerback last season, Jackson has been playing more against the slot receiver since training camp opened in late July. With the season opener against Dallas coming on Sunday night, Jackson may very well be paired against Cowboys top wide out CeeDee Lamb in the nationally televised game. It’s not the way many envisioned the Giants cornerback rotation this spring. Jackson was the best defensive back on the team in 2022 and New York felt it had found a starter to play opposite him when it drafted Banks out of Maryland in the first round. Two days later, the Giants took Hawkins in the sixth round out of Old Dominion. It seemed like a selection to add depth to the roster. It wasn’t. Hawkins made an impression from the start and he has ...Latest news
